Senior Structural Design Engineer

Bassoe Technology is now looking for a Structural Design Engineer to strengthen our team in Gothenburg. Our office is situated near Gothenburg Central Station, between the river and city center, with excellent possibilities for public transportation or bicycle. As a part of the team, the Structural Design Engineer performs structural design of floating offshore structures, such as semi- submersibles platforms and ship shaped units.

As a Structural Design Engineer you:

• Execute project tasks in the area of structural design according to classification rules and standards.
• Carry out structural design using AutoCad, Aveva suit (pdms, marine).
• Are responsible for documentation of the performed work.
• Are a candidate for temporary project positions, such as Discipline Lead or Project Manager.
• Communicate with other disciplines and build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements for this position:

• Degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• 5-10 years’ or more of experience in structural design and fabrication of ships and floating offshore structures.
• Knowledge in AutoCad is required, knowledge in Aveva suit (pdms, marine) is preferred.
• Knowledge about ship and offshore rules of the DNV and ABS classification societies, practical experience is preferred.
• Knowledge to perform simple calculations and rough estimates is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and Swedish are required.
• Additional language skills are an advantage.

With Chinese owners, a subsidiary in Norway and customers worldwide, Bassoe Technology is an international work environment and there is occasional possibility for travel. The organization is slim, and the workdays are varied with several projects going on in parallel, often with quick start-ups and short lead times.
